Trévoux Château
Trévoux
The presence of a river toll and the town's geopolitical location meant a stone fortress had to be built in the late 13th century. The Saône marked the border between the French Kingdom (right bank) and the Holy Roman Empire (left bank).
Trévoux was an important tolled crossing point on the Empire's land.
Aside from stunning views of the Saône, Dombes plateau and Beaujolais, you can gaze at an imposing building listed as a Monument Historique in 1913 and seen as one of the Ain region's top sites.
From 31/03 to 30/09, every Saturday and Sunday.
