The Wheel and Marmite Walk

1. From the carpar located along the D33, below the “bar des Amis”, take the path that goes down between the boules ground and a house. Follow the signs « promenade de la roue et des Marmites ».
2. You reach a small Roman bridge above the Combet stream. On your right you see the old Thevenin’s sawmill: get closer to discover its history and its operation through interpretation panels. In the edifice, there’s a spectacular waterwheel which diameter is more than 7 meters, the largest in the department of Ain. Then get back to the road and go back up for 30 m.
3. Take the small path on your left which first follow a hedge, after a curve you will arrive at the bridge over the Semine river and offers a splendid view on the potholes. You can get close to the Marmites de Géant but take care! Bathing is forbidden.
4. Then go back to the road. At the opposite of the wall where you’ll find an explanation about the arrival of the logs: turn left and go back up to the village. After you arrived at the D1084 turn right to reach the carpark at the starting point, on the way you will overlook the sawmill.
