This outing provides a comprehensive overview of the forest ecosystem, combining large fauna, insects, the relationship with plants and the presence of humans.
9:30am: Welcome at Saint-François de Sales (drop-off and pick-up by coach at the Saint-François-de-Sales cross-country ski center) - Presentation of the day's activities and formation of two groups.
Group 1: Deer and wildlife:
- Search for signs of wildlife (fox, badger, wild boar, roe deer, birds, etc.).
- More specific discovery of the life of the deer.
- Observe antlers, horns, skulls, feathers, meal remains...
- Distinguish between "antlered" and "horned" animals.
Group 2: Ants and other insects :
- Brainstorm definition of an insect.
- Capture and observe small insects in magnifying boxes, and compare them with the definition.
- Presentation of redwood ants, social insects.
- Observation of anthills and discovery of the wonderful organization of red ants through a pictorial story.
12:00 pm: Packed picnic and games.
1:00 pm: Resumption of activities, with groups 1 and 2 reversed.
3:30 pm: Snack.
4pm : Departure.
