The "Barque islands" loop

Discover an often unknown environment: the wetlands of the Arve. This loop allows you to follow a bicycle path in complete safety, to go around the ponds and to cross the Arve on a pedestrian bridge.
The wooded part of this hike is recognized as a Zone Naturelle d'Intérêt Faunistique et Floristique de type 1 (ZNIEFF). It is the ZNIEFF of the Arve gravel pits. You will be able to meet various animal and plant species such as
- the beaver
- the brown nutsedge
1/ If you start from the quai du parquet, you can take the new bicycle path from the Pont de l'Europe to the new downstream bridge over the Arve (a few meters from the foirail parking lot).
2/ Then, you will ride along the Arve on a wide path where you will discover vegetable gardens.
3/ Walk around the ponds on one of the paths indicated on the signs.
4/ Then go back to the footbridge reserved for pedestrians and cyclists, which you left on your left when you went.
5/ Crossing this structure you can admire the Môle (1863m) and the Pointe d'Andey (1877m).
6/ Then follow the markers that will take you along the islands of the boat,
7/ Cross fields in Toisinges, before bringing you back to the Bois-Jolivet district
8/ Cross a bridge reserved exclusively for pedestrians (secured)
Work is underway on part of the road until May 10. (Chemin de chez sous ballon)
