St Romain Loop

Description

Discover the Chapelle Saint Romain, located in the commune of Jongieux near an orientation table. You can also admire the Jongieux vineyards, the Crus de Jongieux and Marestel wine-growing site, which has been nationally classified for its landscape quality since 2010.
The Lagneux marsh and chapel are also worth a visit.

Departure - From the church in Yenne, take the underpass under the RD then follow the Rhône along the GR9-GR65. 1 - Reach Brotelot then Pré-Novel. 2 - Continue along the Rhône to the sign for Les Chaffauds. 3 - Turn right onto a track as far as the hamlet of Etain. Follow the road for 250m. 4 - Take the steep, winding path that climbs to the left through the woods and leads to the summit of the Butte de St-Romain.
5 - To return, cross the Jongieux vineyards to the D210 road, which you take for about 100m. Follow the yellow signposted route through the vineyards before descending to the Lagneux plain. 6 - After La Touvière, take the path on the right. Reach Grand Lagneux and take the road to Petit Lagneux. 7 - Then take the GR to L'Ile and use the return path from Lône d'en l'Ile.
