SILK IN LYON has laid on a unique cultural programme with silk as the common thread. Industrial and historic heritage, culture, scientific approaches and innovations, and variations on silk are all to be discovered in the activities organised for you. Discover every step of the manufacturing process of precious silk fabric in the skills demonstration area.
SILK IN LYON presents an informative and, for some workshops, participatory visitor tour providing a full and concrete overview of the silk industry through 6 key stages: sericulture (silkworm breeding), unwinding and reeling, weaving, pattern design, printing and finishing.
