Description

Neither a postcard village, nor a resort parody, Saint Martin is, above all, loyal to what it was : an authentic Savoyard village, dominated by its church tower, with its winding narrow streets and stone clad farms whose doors open onto vaulted stables. The village is, of course, equipped to welcome its guests, but has lost nothing of its simplicity. The farms have sometimes been transformed into cosy accommodation, the ancient stables into restaurants and the church hosts concerts, but the village soul is still present.

Those looking to discover the mountains other than on the pistes, are not left out. During the summer, many activities are proposed like Walks on foot or Mountain biking, crafts fair, or musical meetings, heritage discoveries, are on offer throughout the summer. Not forgetting the musicalconcerts in the church. Saint Martin also has a great « terroir » where the names of good restaurants are passed on like well kept secrets. From the farm-inn with its home-produce menus, to the gastronomic restaurant and its two stars, the temptations are numerous.

At an altitude of 1450 metres, Saint Martin de Belleville also includes
some 23 village hamlets which decorate the lush, alpine landscape. This
is a valley that works hard to maintain local traditions and mountain
preservation. Between the pastures and villages you’ll find magnificent
architecture, ancestral traditions which are brought back to life at the
village fêtes, mountain arts and crafts at the local craft markets and
reputable cuisine, which takes its richness directly from the land and the
surrounding environment.
