S.N.O.W: Nordic Skiing Opening Winter in Bessans

Bessans is once again the first resort in France to open its ski area, starting on November 02.
To mark the occasion, the resort is offering its S.N.O.W. (Ski Nordic Opening Winter) event for the 3rd time: a 1ʳᵉ snow weekend to celebrate the resumption of cross-country skiing and Nordic activities. An early opening made possible thanks to the snowfarming technique and its special environment (plateau at 1700m altitude surrounded by glaciers and peaks over 3,000 offering cool temperatures from autumn onwards).

Program
- 8.00am-12.00pm: ski area opening reserved for elite skiers and biathletes.
- 12:00-17:00: free ski area opening for all.
- 1:30-5:00 p.m.: Ski testing with specialist brands and equipment suppliers, waxing and ski maintenance demonstrations. Biathlon initiation with laser rifle. Sled dogs on hand for petting and selfie sessions. Photo exhibition by and with Olivier Trompette, mountain guide for Bessans and Haute Maurienne Vanoise, and presentation of the Moonbike activity.
- 1:30 - 4:30 pm: free introduction to cross-country skiing (registration required). Never tried cross-country skiing before? Professional instructors will guide you through your first runs. Registration required (places are limited).
- 1:30 - 5:30 pm: Ski market*.
At SNOW, you can try out equipment before you buy. Exclusive.
The whole day of Saturday November 2 is open to all and free of charge.

*For those wishing to sell their equipment (skis, poles, textiles or any other sports equipment): you can drop it off on Friday November 1ᵉʳ, between 1:30 and 5:00 pm, and on Saturday November 2 between 9:00 and 12:00 pm at the international biathlon site in Bessans.
