The refuge is located at the end of the Vallon du Diable, an absolutely grandiose mineral site. Since 1878, once you're up there, it's time to relax: aperitifs in the setting sun, card games with your companions for the evening and good food. Ideal for preparing for the next day's race!
SPRING guarded refuge
The refuge is accessible by ski touring or snowshoeing at the end of the season.
Access is :
- either from the parking des prés in Saint Christophe en Oisans (the road is now open to motorized traffic).
- Or from the dôme de la lauze at the top of the La Grave or Les deux Alpes resorts (access by ski only).
Call the refuge or send a message to the wardens to find out about access and snow conditions.

Ice falls in the valley
The old refuge is used as a "winter refuge" outside the gardiennage season: 12 places with woollen blankets, some crockery, no water, no gas, no heating, no electricity and no toilet.
Please leave the place clean, take your garbage downstairs, and close the windows and doors!
Visitor alert
Road cut off, preventing access to paths leading to refuges. Work in progress, information coming soon on when the access road will be reopened.
