Office de Tourisme des Baronnies en Drôme Provençale - Pays de Buis-les-Baronnies
Buis-les-Baronnies
A PERFECT BLEND OF TERROIR, DISCOVERY AND SPORT!
Located at the foot of Saint-Julien, a favorite playground for sports enthusiasts, Buis-les-Baronnies nestles in a hollow, surrounded by cliffs, olive and apricot trees.
Take a stroll through the narrow streets to discover the pretty market square with its arcades, and the Dominican cloister. And if you're interested in rural heritage, the surrounding villages, such as Pierrelongue and its perched church, will appeal to you.
Sports enthusiasts will be in heaven on the Saint-Julien, where they can go hiking, climbing and, above all, via ferrata.
Finally, we can't talk about Buis-les-Baronnies without mentioning the linden and aromatic plants that are one of the riches of the Provençal Baronnies. To discover their secrets, simply take a stroll, browse our markets or meet producers who will be happy to share their knowledge and know-how.
Once upon a time, there was Buis-les-Baronnies and its perched villages...
Buis-les-Baronnies was the capital of the powerful seigneury of Mévouillon in the 13th century, and later became part of the Dauphiné. A town of markets and jurists, it remained relatively prosperous until the French Revolution.
The Tourist Office is also a relay for the Parc naturel régional des Baronnies provençales, where you can find information on this remarkable natural area.
All year round.
Closed exceptionally on January 1st, May 1st, November 1st, November 11th and December 25th.
