Livestock, mountain farming and short supply chains
Saint-Jean-d'Arves
This trip offers a varied discovery of the mountains, with in-depth talks on fauna, flora and mountain life.
We are fortunate to have an environment rich in opportunities for discovery activities.
We try to respect everyone's pace of life, adapting the stay to the age of the children and leaving time for distractions (games, rest, leisure...).
Diversification of knowledge: visits, meetings, walks, video support, sports and educational activities.
In particular, through activities such as :
- A visit to an educational donkey farm supervised by a qualified professional: mountain guide, equestrian tourism guide and agricultural engineer.
The donkeys are well trained and used to working with groups of children. This visit is an opportunity to meet a new companion on the trail, learn about its history, origins and uses over the years... (the educational content will be adapted to suit the age of the children).
- A visit to the honey house, to learn about the role of bees, honey plants and the quality of the milk used by the Beaufort A.O.P. industry.
- Meetings with shepherds, farmers and master cheese-makers...
- Follow the milk harvest all the way to the cooperative.
