Here's a bike ride to really see Bresse: the hedged farmland dotted with copses and hedgerows, the timber-framed buildings, the roofs with their peculiar bell towers, and the hen houses around which the famous poultry frolics. These are just some of the stops with commentary (in French) where you can take a breath, but above all listen to the history of Bresse architecture and its Saracen chimneys, and share a few first-hand accounts. Pass by 5 farms; stop around the interior hood of the fireplace at the Ferme-Musée de la Forêt. On arrival, refreshment under the carronnière, one of the few still visible today. Take advantage of your stay in Haute-Bresse to enjoy a picnic and take the time to discover the fully renovated Forêt farm-museum in the afternoon. Preferential rate on presentation of tour ticket, i.e. €5/person instead of €7 (rate valid only on the afternoon of 19/07).
