Description

From the square, go up the road opposite the restaurant. Leave the village. Before the
the last house, take the narrow road that rises to the right. Continue along a track. Further on, a path on the right leads to the Notre-Dame-des-Blés chapel on the summit of Montagard (748 m) and back. There is a panoramic view of the Chaîne des Puys and Monts Dore to the south. Return to the path and, at the next intersection (metal cross) (view of the Puy de Dôme), take the track on the right. Continue up to the hamlet Les Terrades.

1- Before the road, turn to the right, pass between some buildings and continue on a downward track. On a rather steep slope, continue on the track to the left, with a 90° bend. Near a pond, go straight ahead. Further on, you will see a view of Les Bouchauds. Continue along a second pond, then turn right at the road. Go through Les Racauds (pottery workshop), leave the road on the right and take a path that climbs to the left. Continue straight ahead.

2- When you come to a perpendicular track (Saint-Julien-la-Geneste discovery trail), turn right. Further on, cross the road and go straight up for about 750 m. At the crow's-foot, turn left, then right at the second crossroads. Continue as far as the "terrain Napoléon" stele (parachuting area in 1943).

3- 50 m further on, turn right onto the track and go down for 600 m. Turn left and continue up to the road. Turn to the right (pumping station) (nice view to the east).

4- Do not go through the village of Les Bouchauds, but turn left towards the pond. Cross a narrow road and go straight ahead between two hedges. Go around the pond to the left, then turn left at a crow's-foot, then left again after 50 m towards the houses. Cross the road, then the village of La Batisse. Take the path on the right before the last house. Further on, cross a small stream and keep right to enter the woods. At a large perpendicular track, turn right and leave the wood.

5- After crossing the road on a bridge, take the perpendicular track to the right. Leave the road and continue to the left. Cross a road and go straight ahead, then take a second road. Follow it to the left to get back to the start.
