La Voie du Tram
ou Parking de la Voie du Tram D (lieu-dit Rougeland) pour éviter la ville
The first part of the trail is very easy: first you leave the city center from the station on tarmac (30min) then, between the Voie du Tram car park and the Pont des Pierres (2h), you move on a wide and stony path without major difference in height.
From the Pierres Bridge, you start a climb towards the village of Montanges then Chamfromier (2h), after Montanges, the path changes atmosphere, you walk in wooded areas and dirt road. Last stage from Champfromier to Chézery-Forens (2h), passages near the rivers then again clear views at the end.
There are different ways to hike on this path :
- on foot : discover the fantastic history of the trolley thanks to a lot of signs with information written on them
- by bike : you can have a lot of fun thanks to many activities you can try with an all-terrain bike
- you can also go jogging and time yourself thanks to all the kilometer marker on the way
There are many kilometer markers and machines for all-terrain bikes on the first four kilometers.
