La Ferme du Val d'Amby
Annoisin-Chatelans
Two farmers work here all year round. Eléonore mainly looks after the animals (chickens, ducks, guinea fowl, geese, turkeys, hens, etc.) and the reception. Every day, she prepares the feed for the poultry, picks the grass for the rabbits, collects the eggs several times a day and keeps an eye on the latest arrivals (chicks, ducklings, guinea fowl, gosl, turkey poults, etc.), which need a lot of attention in their first few days of life.
As for Alain, he looks after the production of organic cereals, the upkeep of the farm equipment and, above all, the animals. He grows wheat, triticale, barley and peas, using all his know-how and his determination to produce quality cereals that respect the environment. The harvest is used to feed the farmyard animals and the pigs all year round.
At the request of several local schools, they decided in 2006 to open their doors to nursery and primary school classes by contacting the Chemin des Fermes association. They are very happy and proud to be able to pass on our farming culture and know-how to the next generation. The job of a farmer, although difficult, is full of joy and exchanges with animals and nature.
By visiting our farms, you too can soak up this happiness.
All year round, every Friday and Saturday.
