Jean Pierre Rivière wine estate
Lachassagne
Our estate is above all a family story...
Inherited from our parents, winegrowers in Beaujolais since 1682, our ancestors have been cultivating vines for several centuries. Jean-Pierre and Colette started in 1984 at Lachassagne with three hectares of vines. They launched direct sales in bottles. They innovated by making the first white Beaujolais wine.
Our estate gradually grew to 18 hectares, including 7 hectares at Saint-Trys on lovely clay-limestone terroirs typical of the Pierres Dorées region. In 2013 and again in 2018, the children Alexandre and Marine returned to the estate to develop new vintages, marketing and wine tourism.
To protect this fabulous terroir, we work all our vineyards and wines in a sustainable way, with the Terra Vitis label. Our desire to help people discover the Pierres Dorées region, our profession and our wines has naturally led us to create wine tourism activities and events.
Our cellar is open during the week by appointment and every Saturday from 10am to 6pm. We are closed on Sundays.
All year round, we offer wine-tourism activities at the estate, by prior arrangement:
- Cellar visit and tasting.
- Mâchon Beaujolais: tasting and nibbles
- Oenology lessons
- Choco-Oeno workshop (reserved for groups of 6 or more)
- E-trott ride through the vineyards, in collaboration with E-scape ride.
