HMV Cyclo Challenge by Dare2B -Montée cycliste de L'Iserane
Immeuble La Ciamarella
The Haute Maurienne Vanoise Cyclo Challenge by Dare2B consists of 6 climbs, each more unique than the last.
The ascent of the Col de l'Iseran, the highest road pass in the Alps at 2770 m, is a must for all cyclists. With its 970 m vertical drop from Bonneval-sur-Arc, this ascent remains etched in the calves of thousands of amateur and professional cyclists alike.
This year there's a new format: add up the altitude difference of each climb and pass the different levels *.
Each participant will register on site, at the start of the climb, and will receive an HMV Cyclo Challenge by Dare2B support, which will then enable them to accumulate the vertical gradients of each of the 6 climbs in the area: L'iserane, Mont Cenis, Aussois, La Norma, Valfréjus and Bellecombe.
Some climbs can be done several times if you feel up to it!
3 suggested objectives:
Bronze level: Achieve 1,000 m cumulative vertical drop
Silver level: Reach 2,000 m of cumulative vertical drop
Gold level : 3,000 m cumulative vertical drop
At each level, win goodies from our partners.
Then enter the draw to win the grand prize!
--> Bronze level: your name will appear 1 time,
--> Silver level: your name will appear 2 times,
--> Gold level: your name will appear 3 times!
Push yourself and try to accumulate the most vertical drop!
You'll have the chance to return down the pass towards Val d'Isère. Our partners from the Tarentaise region: the Val d'Isère Tourist Office and the Club des Sports will be involved in the climb, with a joint departure from their side of the Iseran. The climb on the Val d'Isère side will not count towards the HMV Cyclo Challenge by Dare2B!
* Participation in the HMV Cyclo Challenge by Dare2B is not compulsory. You can take part in the cycle touring climb on closed roads without being registered.
Part of the climb takes place in the heart of the Vanoise National Park. Please respect the specific rules that apply (notably a ban on dogs, even on a leash, whose presence could disturb wildlife). Drones are also prohibited in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, also to preserve the tranquillity of wild animals).
The D902 road will be closed to motorized vehicles for the occasion.
