Haut-Rhône Tourism
Seyssel
Located just 30km from Aix-les-Bains and 40km from Annecy, Geneva and Chambéry, Haut-Rhône offers you a life-size playground.
You can explore it in summer and winter, and be tempted by its outdoor activities: canoeing, kayaking, pedalos, stand-up paddling, hiking, mountain biking and electric bicycles, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing and much more.
Discover the Rhône, the Usses, the Grand Colombier (made famous by the Tour de France), the Domaine Nordique de Sur Lyand (with its 360° view of the Alps and Mont Blanc), the Vuache and the Montagne des Princes.
Along the way, you'll come across many reminders of our past. Old houses, bread ovens, churches, chapels, wash-houses, bridges, quays and chateaux are just some of the sights you'll see along the way.
The Haut-Rhône is also an itinerant region, with the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, the Grande Traversée des Alpes, the Chemins du Soleil and the ViaRhôna.
With the opening of the Anglefort and Virignin locks, the Haut-Rhône is once again open to river navigation. Boaters and their boats are gradually reclaiming these 100 km of waterways.
Take time to discover its history and heritage. Take in the castles of Clermont and Chaumont, the villages of Seyssel and the history of inland waterway transport, the Génissiat dam, the Maison du Haut-Rhône and its various exhibitions.
Awaken your taste buds, gourmets, gourmands, epicureans, this is your home!
