From flowers to cheese
Savoie ()
This outing allows children to take part in the production of butter and Tome des Bauges, a typical local cheese.
9:50 am: Welcome at the Fromagerie du Val d'Aillon in Aillon-Le-Jeune.
10am: Visit to the "Champtallon" farm. We guide you through the warm atmosphere of the farm to show you where the milk delivered to the dairy is produced. You'll learn how a herd works and visit the barn where the animals live during the winter months. You'll learn how the day unfolds, punctuated by milking and the farmer's various tasks for each season.
11:30am: Packed picnic (in the dining room in case of rain).
Possibility of exploring the village of Aillon-le-Jeune.
With the help of a map, the class embarks on a discovery tour in search of clues to the habitat and life of mountain dwellers past and present.
No intervention from the dairy, the class evolves independently.
1:30 pm: Dairy product-making workshop: in the heart of the "Secrets de fruitière" area, a fun, interactive space.
