Festival Images et Neige
Cluses
Snow, ephemeral or eternal, is present on every continent. It interferes with our lives on a daily or exceptional basis. Plants, animals and people have adapted to the conditions it imposes. Photographers too.
Photographing in the cold is a difficult, often extreme and sometimes perilous exercise. Capturing the subtlety of nuances and the delicacy of materials requires an excellent understanding of light and perfect technical mastery.
Some have made a specialty of it: lovers of the Far North, crystallography enthusiasts, mountaineering buffs and slide enthusiasts. Others photograph the roads, forests and rooftops that surround us from their doorstep. All share the same sense of wonder.
Since 2010, the town of Cluses (Haute-Savoie) and Frédéric Boiteux (professional photographer from Cluses) have been inviting professionals and amateurs alike to share their views of the landscape and nature. This free cultural event has become a not-to-be-missed event, and goes hand-in-hand with efforts to raise public awareness of the challenges of global warming and sustainable development.
From Friday 24 to Sunday 26 January 2025 between 10 am and 6 pm.
