Festival C'est l'Printemps - Theater - Alexis Moncorgé, Eldorado 1528
Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis

Eight years later, Alvar reappears on the other side of the continent, in Mexico. Almost naked, at the head of an escort of nearly a thousand Indians, he is unrecognizable.
What's happened to him? How did he manage to survive alone in the middle of the Amerindian world, and above all, what did he see?
A word from the author:
The tragic collision of the American and European continents has always fascinated me, and when I discovered the life of Cabeza de Vaca I immediately thought it had to be shared in some way. My way of sharing is through theater, through my voice, so for the first time I took up my pen and wrote. I wanted to offer the spectator a journey, an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life, by meeting a celestial wanderer who has come to visit us like a ghost out of a dream.
Alvar walks alone, discovering himself in the process. So I chose the monologue format, which I like so much, to bring this real odyssey to life. I love the idea that people have been gathering around the fire to listen to tales since the dawn of time. In a world where consumerism and the thirst for wealth parasitize all relationships with others and with the spiritual in general, the story of Cabeza de Vaca brings us back to our own intimate desire.
What is my destiny? What kind of man do I want to be? What do we dream of? More than a historical figure, Alvar is a timeless symbol, going against the tide of his time and leaving us with a magnificent demonstration of humanism in the midst of this period of destruction.
