Exposition Nicolas Boulard, La galerie des pains
Bourg-en-Bresse
Invited by the Campagne-Première festival to carry out a research residency in the Aindin region, everything seemed to predispose artist Nicolas Boulard to push open the doors of the Monastère Royal de Brou, a place where his work is established with a strong focus on art history, the transformation of living materials and the hybridization of heritage know-how.
The artist's work, which focuses on the natural processes involved in fermenting wine, cheese or bread, finds a surprising and complicit echo at Brou, and enters into a dialogue with the history of the monument and its collections. For Brou, the artist has created a series of original sculptures freely inspired by the story of the miraculous bread rolls of Saint Nicolas de Tolentin.
