Description

The existing church was extended from the medieval building. In an original feature in the Tarentaise region, the church has retained its semi-dome vault with a bell tower topped by a tufa spire, built by Pierre Martinet, a master mason from Valsésia (1732) and the high altar by Jacques-Antoine Todesco, also from Valsésia, crafted in 1677. The concave wall and the two side windows of the choir limited its usual width. On each side are two large statues of Saint Barthélémy and Saint Grat (one was invoked for the herds, the other for sowing).
The painted canvases depict Saint Nicolas and Saint Barthélémy in the main section and the martyrdom of Saint Barthélémy in the upper part. To the left is the altarpiece of the Rosary and to the right, that of Saint Anthony, abbot: on either side, the rose and laurel ornaments attest to the hesitations of the destinations of these cults.
