A unique and fragile planet, in balance

Description

An immersive day on our spaceship: the Earth. Students will discover it from a new angle through the games of gravity and ptarmigan. They'll also explore the solar system and unravel some of its mysteries.

9:30 am: Welcome at ScienceExplo in Aillon-le-Jeune. Presentation of the speakers and separation into several groups (each group will take part in the 4 workshops taking place at 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm and 2 pm).

Workshop 1: Marvel at a screening of the film Incroyable télescope in the 360° planetarium. This film explores the wonders and discoveries made by astronomers over the last 400 years.
Students will then discover the constellations under the dome.

Workshop 2 (Cycles 1 and 2): Travel through our solar system: The Earth is part of a system of 8 planets: the Solar System. Come and discover the characteristics of each planet, and find out what makes ours so special - it's home to life! Creation of a model.
Or Workshop 2 (Cycle 3 and middle school): Like the Egyptians, students will become visionaries and predict the rising of the stars by creating a rotating sky map. They'll also discover the sky in which they were born.

12pm: Packed picnic

Workshop 3: Defy Newton's and Kepler's laws with a geologist mountain leader and discover the Earth, a planet in balance. Caution! Do not fall...

Workshop 4: Go exploring with a geological mountain leader and discover the biodiversity of our mountains: the Earth, adapted ecosystems in disequilibrium.

3:30 pm: Taste from the bag and debriefing
