Montagnieu Fortress
Isère ()
Description
Isère (38)
The Canon of Auvergne announced its presence in 1586. Anne Romatier, wife of Marcollin, owned the fortified house known as the Montagnieu tower. In 1587 a testament was written in the lower room near the garden of the Montagnieu fortress.
Over the centuries, it belonged to the Quinsonnas, Bernard de Marigny (farmer general, it was a salt deposit), the Riondels and the Lasseres.
Since 1950, it has been owned by the Franciscan Sisters, who run a bed and breakfast.
