The highlights of the route :

- A visit to the Ile du Beurre, a haven of peace for wildlife, protected by one of the few biotope protection orders (APPB) on the Rhône.
- The freshness of the alluvial forest, the sound of birdsong and cicadas and the scents of nature.
When and how can you make the most of it ?
- You'll need binoculars and a camera to enjoy the wilderness and landscapes.
- How about the penultimate weekend in January? Combine a hike with a visit to the Ampuis Wine Market, a wine event that is almost a hundred years old.
- Come in early spring, when the grey herons are birthing, or in the evening in June to try and spot the beavers, or in autumn when the migratory birds are present.
- Spend an extra 30 minutes in nature, and try out the educational beaver trail.
