Whether the Danube is blue or grey doesn't matter: it's as colourful as our imagination can make it. Rainer Honeck, concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, is our most experienced guide. On 1 January, don't look for him on your television screen at the legendary New Year's Concert in Vienna's Musikverein, because he will be leading the Orchestre national de Lyon through waltzes and polkas he knows like the back of his hand! Famous works such as The Bat Overture, Tales from the Vienna Woods and The Emperor Waltz will be on the menu, as well as lesser-known works that are just as delightful. And Rainer Honeck will take us on an exhilarating trip to Budapest with Éljen a Magyar! [and Brahms' Hungarian Dances.
