Balade en histoire à Grand-Corent
Grand-Corent
Here's a special walk to experience the close link between geography (mountainous relief, ridge landscapes, isolated villages... in the heart of nature) and history, that of the Second World War. First, you'll watch a film made in March 2024 recounting the day of April 16, 1944: a true living memory thanks to the precious memories of the last witnesses. You'll then go on a "reconnaissance" tour with a group of enthusiasts, and discover the key sites of this dark episode of history in today's landscape. On that day, the commune was arrested, murdered and burned by the German occupiers.
Whether you're a history buff or just curious about the landscape and heritage of our villages, this walk is sure to excite you. From Grand-Corent to the hamlet of Racouze, passing a beautiful viewpoint over the Cize-Bolozon viaduct: 5 km round trip on a minor road. Easy.
Booking essential.
Bring your own picnic after the visit. Several pitches available in the village.
