The Rallye National du Suran 2024 is back on the road for its 29th edition, on Friday September 20 and Saturday September 21.
It is now one of the major events, and is included in the calendar of the "Coupe de France des Rallyes", the "Challenge du Comité Rhône-Alpes du Sport Automobile" and the "Trophée Michelin Alps" (Switzerland).
Organized by the new "Ecurie Bresse Bugey" Association, the Rallye du Suran will take place on the narrow roads of the Suran Valley in the Haut-Bugey region of France, the ideal terrain to put thrills to the test! Prologue to this remarkable spectacle will be the 12th edition of the Véhicules Historiques de Compétition (VHC).
With more than 360 km in total, divided into two stages, not two but three special stages will be on offer from the roadside, with two special stages on Friday evening and three special stages on Saturday, to be run three times.
As in previous years, the field is expected to be substantial once again, with around 120 crews expected and the presence of a number of Swiss teams. The routes are as follows: from Nivignes to Aromas, from Valuisant to Conches, and Grand Corent.
Ecurie Bresse Bugey intends to make a further commitment to "environmental sustainability", with a number of 100% electric entry and follow-up cars. The other aspect of this program towards sustainability concerns the energy used on a daily basis on the championship. Some racers are even planning to use bio-fuel-powered vehicles.
This motoring extravaganza would not be possible without the commitment of the many stewards and volunteers - over 200 in all. They all work tirelessly to organize this historic race down to the finest detail. The presence of our loyal sponsors and partners is also essential, as is the support of the elected representatives of the towns and cities we pass through, and of the public authorities for their help in organizing such a sporting event.
Of particular note is the presence of the Enfant'Ain Association, which, as part of its many initiatives, will be giving sick children and teenagers from the Ain department the chance to get into the shoes of co-drivers, by getting into the prestige cars present at the Rally.
Throughout the event, you'll have access to refreshment points and refreshment stands.
All profits will be donated to the communes crossed by the Rally, and will go to the associations and fire departments of the Ain department.
Finally, the organizers would like to remind you that, if you wish to attend this event in complete safety, it is essential to respect the instructions and safety zones indicated on the site.
