Famille Chermette
Saint-Vérand
One Art, one Wine.
"The art of making wine as close to the grape as possible."
Established in Saint-Vérand, in the land of the Golden Stones, Martine, Pierre-Marie and Jean-Etienne Chermette produce red, rosé and white Beaujolais. A large part of the Beaujolais comes from old vines, including Beaujolais Primeurs. Recently, white and rosé Crémants de Bourgogne have been added, as well as blackcurrant and peach creams with ginger for a kir royal. In the north of the region, the crus are born: Brouilly, Fleurie Poncié and Garants, Moulin à Vent as well as the Saint-Amour.
Whether in the cultivation of the vines or in the winemaking process, Pierre-Marie and Jean-Etienne Chermette, both oenologists, intervene as little as possible, allowing the terroir to express itself fully. Reasoned control in the vines, manual harvesting at full maturity with successive sorting, indigenous yeasts, respect for traditional semi carbonic vinification. "I use this method, traditional in Beaujolais, because it is perfectly adapted to the Gamay grape and our terroir. It allows me to make authentic and personalized wines."
"We want to obtain healthy, fully ripe grapes to make the wine as natural as possible. »
